Meet our Attorneys

Peter D. Corti

Peter D. Corti, Managing Partner, has over 36 years of legal experience. He has tried cases before the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission (www.iwcc.il.gov), as well as circuit and appellate courts.

Among his notable achievements, Attorney Corti is the past President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Board Member of the Workers’ Compensation Lawyers Association. Also, he was selected as an Illinois Super Lawyer, a peer distinction of professional achievement for lawyers in more than 70 practice areas. Peter Corti is listed in the Best Lawyers of America, which is “the oldest and most respected peer-review publication in the legal profession.” Attorney Corti is also a member in the Leading Lawyers Network, a division of Law Bulletin Publishing Company recognizing, “the most respected and experienced lawyers. Additionally, he has an AV (very high to pre-eminent) rating by Martindale-Hubbell for his legal ability and professional ethics

Richard E. Aleksy

Partner Richard E. Aleksy, our firm’s pre-eminent trial attorney, has argued many cases before the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission also, as well as circuit, appellate and the Supreme Court of Illinois.

Attorney Aleksy currently serves as an active member of the Workers’ Compensation Lawyers Association, and has served as a past Present and Board Member of the Association.

Like Mr. Corti, Richard Aleksy was selected as an Illinois Super Lawyer, and one of the Best Lawyers of America. He also is a member of the Leading Lawyers Network. Attorney Aleksy has also gained the distinction rating by Martindale-Hubbell of AV, for his legal ability and professional ethics.

Mr. Aleksy has lectured numerous times at IICLE Seminars, ITLA Seminars, WCLA Seminars, as well as Claims Adjuster Associations.

John J. Castaneda

John J. Castaneda has also built his reputation on focused legal experience and steadfast dedication to client needs as a Partner in our law firm. Fluent in Spanish and English, Attorney Castaneda focuses much of his energy on workers compensation law. Like his peers among our workers’ comp firm, he has also appeared before the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission, circuit, and appellate court.

Besides serving as past President and Board Member of the Workers’ Compensation Lawyers Association (WCLA), John Castaneda has the distinction of being the first Hispanic President of the WCLA. Mr. Castaneda is currently the editor of the WCLA newsletter.

Just like attorneys Corti and Aleksy, Mr. Castaneda was selected as one of Illinois Super Lawyers. His legal ability and professional ethics has also gained him the privilege of an AV ranking by Martindale-Hubbell.
